Sorting Photographs for my upcoming book - Tasmanian Art Deco & Modernism

The Tasmanian Art Deco and Modernism book will be self published through crowdfunding in 2026. Over the last couple of months I’ve worked through sorting over 300,000 for my upcoming crowdfunded publication, Tasmanian Art Deco and Modernism. Thankfully the process has been rather smooth as my archive is organised by year, keywords and all on a single drive volume for easy and efficient accessibility. With two decades of archives to tap into it’s been a wonderful experience looking back through the archive in great detail. Places I’ve got to know like friends over the years…some stay the same whilst others have been lost completely. 

When it came to selecting photographs for the book I could have simply selected a photo at random, but it became apparent that the hundreds of trips all over Tasmania and multitude of visits to locations that I owed it to myself to take the time necessary in order to review all of my archive. It’s been quite the process but a satisfying one.  Now comes the task of working through these draft selections. Once this is done I will be editing these selections in great detail for the final publication.
